Tumblr

Screen shot of my Tumblr

Just thought I'd talk about Tumblr for a bit. Even if you don't have an account I'm pretty sure 99.9% of people know about the photo/gif sharing website.

The first account I made was called jan0skiansf0rever which, funnily enough, is still live. It was/is dedicated to the Janoskians and it became really popular - currently it has over 103,000 views. I liked sharing photos and gifs of the boys and I started creating my own when I got bored, it was fun. But liking the Janoskians was a phase and, now I don't really like them so that Tumblr wasn't fun anymore.

I then created my current Tumblr, un-orth0doxxx, where I reblog photos (and the occasional gif) of skater boys, quotes, imagery (scenery and locations) and fashion. My layout is really simple and I have 4 columns to fit more pictures on. I really love it. I have the Tumblr app on my phone (even though it is really shit) so I'm constantly reblogging.

If you don't have Tumblr, you should just to try it out. *Warning: it's INSANELY addictive. You wouldn't think it would be when you first get it - I was like "meh, this is lame" but once you start getting the hang of it and customising your layout, it is so addictive. I wouldn't recommend using it over exam periods!*.

And if you have Tumblr, follow me and I'll follow you back regardless.

I hope you had a very merry christmas :)

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs

A cult favourite of Kim Kardashian, the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs instant self tanner is extremely popular.

It comes in four shades (light, medium, tan and deep) and provides legs with a "beautifully long-lasting tan." In more depth: the product is designed to cover freckles, veins and imperfections; enhance skin tone; leaves skin silky smooth and is long-lasting. The aerosol can delivers a light mist of colour over the skin that is buildable to the desired depth of colour.

The can tells to apply the product directly onto the palms of your hand, then to massage it into the skin. When I tried this originally it didn't work. I wasn't pleased with the results - it was uneven and patchy and just not nice. When I tried it for a second time, I sprayed the product into a tanning mitt and then applied it like you would normally do. This worked SO much better! It was streak-free, even and looked incredibly natural.

It dried fairly quickly, however it does wash off easily. I'd recommend using this before a night out as it starts to look "fake" after you shower. One thing I dislike about this product is the smell and feel of it. It can feel tacky and, as for the smell, its not very pleasant (as are most self tanners, though). Despite this, I'll mostly likely repurchase.

Leo Bancroft Instantly Sleek Smoothing Serum

Honestly, I've never heard of Leo Bancroft before. I randomly picked it up in Tesco and I am so glad I did. The "instantly sleek smoothing serum" is designed for frizzy hair to keep it under control. I don't have frizzy hair, but I do have little fly-aways - and I hate using hairspray so I thought I'd give this a whirl. And I love it. It's lightweight, you only need the tiniest amount, smells good and does what it's meant to do. Perfect.

I've just looked at their website and I've found that every single product Leo Bancroft sells is £4. Four freaking pounds, each. If I was you, I'd definitely check out their products, and at four quid each you can't go wrong with trying!

Max Factor All Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation

Apologies for the picture and the ever-so-slightly obvious foundation marks on the front. I use it a lot, okay?!

Max Factor's new foundation has been designed with a primer and concealer built in. The primer gives a smooth even base, the concealer corrects any flaws and the foundation gives a light finish - thus, in hindsight, creating the perfect beauty product. But is it worth it?

Quite simply, yes. The formula with SPF20 gives a medium to full coverage with a matte finish. The whole "primer" aspect of the product works well in my opinion as it stays on all day. I wore it for school (I applied it at 7.30) and it lasted the whole day before taking it off before bed. I've mentioned before that I have a habit of leaving makeup on for around 16 hours on a weekday. I guess one of my new years resolutions is to stop that.

I love everything about this product, except the colour range. Like most drugstore foundations, the colour selection is very limited with only six shades. I have the shade beige 55 which is the third darkest and I'm not exactly the tannest of people - therefore I can assume people with darker skin tones might find it difficult to find a match. Those with lighter skin tones on the other hand will find it much easier. Additionally, the foundation is very drying. I have combination skin and even I found it a little too much - using a setting spray helped greatly. Overall, this foundation would suit those with pale to tan skin who have combination/oily skin.

For £11.99 (plus it's always on various discounts/offers), it's totally worth it.

Stubborn Brown by MAC

Stubborn Brown, described as a deep rich brown, is one of MACs powerpoint eye pencils. MAC have several eyeliner "types" with powerpoint being one - they are waterproof, long wearing and have either a metallic, shimmer or matte finish. As for application, they are easy to apply - they don't drag and can be used on the anywhere on the eye. MAC says they "won't transfer, smudge or budge".

I use this eyeliner on my lower lash line (see picture) to open up my eyes. I find using it, or any eyeliner for that matter, on my waterline makes my eyes appear much smaller which I don't like.

Due to the fact it's a brown means that it's not as harsh as a black eyeliner and is much more subtle. I would describe the colour as a dark bronze - minus the shimmer, as it's a matte eyeliner. It lasts all day on my lower lash line so in all honesty, it's perfect.

If you're in the market for a new brown eyeliner, look no further.

Hello, December

Aside from October (my birthday month), December is most definitely my favourite time of the year. I love every aspect of it; the weather - even though it is considerably colder, the atmosphere (with people excitedly preparing for the 25th and new years), it being acceptable to wear a simple jumper (maybe with a tacky picture of rudolf on) with leggings and boots, and the fact that everyone in general just seem that bit more cheery and care-free. What's not to love?!

Perhaps not hearing the same Christmas song played over and over again on the radio or the tedious television adverts, but overall, December is a great - especially when it snows!

January is exam month for me so therefore I'll be posting extra in this month to make up for the near-to-none posts in the new year. I'll be doing first ever yearly favourites, Christmas gift ideas, diy tutorials and winter fashion.

I hope you all have an amazing month of December! <3
