Pre-Holiday Boots Haul

Recently I went to Boots to pick up some more stuff I needed for holiday. Like shampoo, conditioner, nail polish remover pads, travel pills etc etc. I managed to get everything however I got a little distracted and kinda went off in a tangent and bought some bits I didn't really need (minus the sun protection obvs!) So I thought I'd share with you my more exciting purchases.

L'oreal Paris Skin Perfection Miscellar Solution
A drugstore 'dupe' for Bioderma that is apparently super amazing so I needed to try it. I'm thinking of using this to take my makeup off on the plane and every night. [£4.99]

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
No reason for this purchase other than the fact I love all of the other Real Techniques brushes. I love using new brushes anyway so I think I'll save this for when I'm away. [£9.99]

Barry M Hi Shine Gel Nail Paint in Papaya
I love their jelly nail polishes - amazing colour range, good quality and they seem to last ages without chipping and, for the price, I needed to get another. "Papaya" is a gorgeous neon coral/orange that will look uh-may-zing with a tan. [£3.99]

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Kiss Me Coral and Snow Pink
It's sooooo hot in Dubai and wearing lipsticks is the last thing I want. These lipglosses are really nice and they have such an amazing colour selection. I picked up "Kiss Me Coral", which is a stunning vibrant shimmery coral, as I saw Tanya Burr use it in a tutorial who made it looked beaut and "Snow Pink" which is a lovely pink shimmery nude. [£6.99]

Batiste XXL Plumping Powder
I have never heard or seen about this product for so I'm seriously excited to try it. It's a loose powder that you work into the roots to create volume. The packaging is cute and it's cheap so I thought why not. [£3.99]

Garnier Skin Perfection BB Cream
To me, BB creams are pointless and don't do much skincare wise. However the reviews and hype over this product was insane, I had to try it. I got it in the shade light as I read the medium shade is really dark. I'll do a separate review once I've tried it out. [£9.99]

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
I've already owned this concealer before; it's extremely high coverage and conceals practically everything. [£4.19]

I swear by the Piz Buin sun protection range. You can get them with special tanning intensifying extracts to make your tan lasts even longer, or you can get it without. It's greattttt.

Have a great week! Xoxo

*Update: this is probably gonna be my last post before Dubai, I'm still gonna do my travel guide yet I'll do them after I'm back - most people go away late July/August anyway! I'll just have more time to take pics and write them instead of trying to fit them all in three days (I go the 10th of July) and rushing etc! Have an amazing summer you guyssssss!!! -Suzie*

New York City Adventures

Sorry for the lack of posts recently! I just got back from a weeks trip to New York City and haven't had access to any wifi whatsoever which, to be honest, is a good thing as I paid 100% attention on my location and wasn't distracted by the likes of Twitter and, of course, my blog.

- - -

I've never been to NYC before so was excited to experience "the city that never sleeps" - and they're right, it's absolutely manic. The roads are packed, the atmosphere buzzes, everyone is super friendly and there are so many people - even when the weather is shit! Thankfully it didn't rain once, yet my sunglasses (a cheeky duty free purchase) didn't make an appearance unfortunately. Despite the weather, our time was amazing and I can't wait to re-visit next year. Going on my birthday also made it that more memorable, too!

With the likes of 5th Avenue, Macy's, Bloomingdales and the hundreds of stores lining the streets of Manhattan, I was in heaven and, reviewing over everything I bought, I released I have spent a lot. Not mentioning any figures yet I took $800 spending money and have come back with zilch. That gives you a rough idea of the wallet damage I have done over 7 days. No regrets, though! I thought I'd do two separate New York-esque posts; the first being this one, a chat about my trip accompanied by some pictures and the second being a major haul of the makeup, clothes and random bits I bought which will be up tomorrow.

Let's start with some pictures...

Central Park, Museum of Natural History

 9/11 Memorial

John Lennon Strawberry Fields, Central Park

View from Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty

Subway, NYPD Police

 Hard Rock Cafe, American Flag

 Times Square, Infamous Yellow Cab

Being a tourist you want to see everything and, in my opinion, a week is the perfect amount of time you  need to see all the attractions. I saw pretty much everything: Central Park, the 9/11 memorial, Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island, Times Square, 5th Avenue and the Empire State Building. The highlight of the trip was definitely going up the ESB and shopping in 5th Avenue. Our hotel was conveniently a two minute walk from Times Square which encouraged late night shopping trips around the area - there were two Sephora's a hundred meters away from each other (heaven!) which was where near enough half of my money went too! The selection of restaurants to dine at was crazy. We ended up eating at the Hard Rock Cafe twice. That good.

I could ramble on and on about the trip, but I could be here for hours. If you ever have the chance to go to New York, I one hundred and ten percent recommend it. It's definitely a full on vacation - lots of walking and late nights, yet if it's something you really want to do, then do it! The shopping is unreal and everything is much cheaper than it is in England so it's win win!

My post on everything I bought from make-up to clothes to accessorise to food (when I say food, I mean chocolate. Just chocolate) will be up tomorrow! Can't wait to show you.

Italian adventures

Considering I've never been to Italy before, and my mum has only ever been to Florence, we decided to go to the tourist city of Rome for a few days. Originally we weren't planning to go anywhere during the summer as we've already got a holiday booked for late October. Yet, we booked our flights/hotel to Rome a week before jetting off and I'm so glad we did. Here's a couple pictures:

Italian flag

Colosseum

Catholic church inside The Vatican City

Trevi Fountain

Visiting and going inside all of the landmarks was incredible! The weather was in the 100's and this made the days very long and tiring. We woke up extremely early, saw various sights and then came back to the hotel at mid-day. Then we would go out at about 5pm and stay out till midnight. It's so much easier to walk around at night - perhaps because of the climate change. Of course, we ate Italian food every night which was awesome. I ate pasta for dinner every night as I'm not a fan of pizza and every restaurant we went too was amazing! The holiday went really fast, unfortunately. Yet I was glad when we landed back in Heathrow to cold, windy weather despite the fact I was wearing shorts with no tights. I felt sorry for the Italians visiting London who didn't look prepared for the weather!

Hope your summer has been good. Back to school for me in a weeks' time :'(

What's in my travel make-up bag?

This time tomorrow, I'll be boarding the plane to go to Rome! I am so excited as I've wanted to go to Italy ever since my dad came back from a business trip and told stories of how wonderful the atmosphere is there. Plus, we're going for my mum's birthday which makes it extra special.

Considering I've never done any "what's in my ___" posts, I thought I'd start with showing you what I am taking in my make-up bag for Rome. The make-up bag that I am taking with me is see-through so I can use the products on the plane if needed. It also makes it easier for me as I know where everything is!

This is everything I'm taking...

Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara, Maybelline One by One Mascara, Clinique High Impact Mascara, Garnier Eye Roll On, MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder, MAC Eye Kohl in Fascinating, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion, Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner, Clinique Eyeshadow Duo in Victorian Pink, Avon Glimmersticks Brow Definer in Dark Brown and Blonde, MAC Brow Set in Clear, MAC Paint Pots in Bare Study, Nubile and Rubenesque, Benefit High Beam, Benefit The Porefessional, MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in Semi-Precious Crystal Pink, Nars Bronzer in Laguna, Urban Decay De-Slick Translucent Powder, MAC Powder Blush in Harmony, Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake and Carmex!

(Underlined items link to reviews)

It sounds like a lot, but trust me, it's not!

I hope you're having a great summer and I'll be back towards the end of the week!

Suzanna xoxo

PS. I've mentioned this before, but I'm going to New York in October for my birthday. I've planned to do several posts before then including what I'm taking for skincare and what I'm taking for haircare. I might also do a whats in my bag post - if interested :)
