New drugstore purchases

As if I didn't need any more products to try.

For the past few months I have been using Mac charcoal brown eyeshadow to fill in my brows. It's the perfect neutral medium brown, however since dying my hair dark (almost black) brown, I needed something new to use and after reading numerous positive to pick up the Sleek Brow Kit in dark. It comes with mini tweezers, two mini brushes, a dark brown wax and a dark brown powder making it perfect for on the go.

I bought a new mascara in the form of L'Oreal Miss Manga. I normally hate drugstore mascaras, but yet again, I got swayed by good reviews.

After watching this video, Kate spoke highly of the newly re-promoted Revlon Photoready Skinlights. They are marketed as face illuminators, yet can be used under foundation as a primer or over foundation to create a glowy appearance. I chose Bare Light - a beige, warm tone shade.

L'Oreal lumi magique is one of my favourite foundations, so I had to buy the new L'Oreal Lumi Magique powder. It appears to be a highly pigmented highlighting powder with a strong pink undertone.

New eyeliners! Rimmel Scandaleyes are one of my favourites in general and I use the nude colour religiously. Brown eyeliners are more subtle for daytime so I bought Taupe, a light brown. I also picked up a new liquid liner, L'Oreal Super Slim as I have been obsessed with a thin line of liquid liner on the upper lash line recently.

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso Review

This was the product I was most keen to buy as it has literally been raved by everyone and I am partialy known to go with the hype. This Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso can be described as a light coral with peach undertones. It has a little shimmer that reflects in the light and aims to create a fresh, healthy glow.

The texture of this blush is extremely lightweight and smooth which makes for an easy apply and blending process. And also means you don't need much to create a subtle glow. Layering it up however deepens the peach undertone to flatter almost all skin tones. This shade in particular is very luminous and brightens up the complexion instantly creating a healthy glow.

I'm super impressed with this shade and is perfect to compliment a tan. I've found that this blush is a pretty close dupe for both NARS Orgasm and MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural in Stereo Rose (limited edition). Just 10x cheaper!

Whilst away I also picked up another Milani blush which I'll probably review in the near future. Have a great day :)

Bourjois 3 for 2 Mini Haul

I was in Boots the other day and there were so many offers on various brands. I took advantage of two of them: 2 for £14 on L'Oreal and 3 for 2 on Bourjois. The L'Oreal items were just repurchases (True Match foundation and False Lash Telescopic mascara) so I thought I'd share the most exciting Bourjois items.

First item on my list was the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons. They come in four shades and I went for "Peach on the Beach" a coral/peach. I think I'm gonna have to go back and buy the other three, they're so nice!

Another product that's been around for a long time are the Bourjois Cream Blushes which are the cutest little things ever! They also are only available in four shades and I went for "02 Healthy Glow" which is similar to the lip crayon when I look at the swatches! It's such a lovely shade that I think will look great on pale skin tones right up to medium/tan skin.

You can't go wrong with eyeliner. I've nearly finished my favourite brown eyeliner (MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Stubborn Brown) so I thought I'd try the Bourjois Liner Stylo in 42 Brun before getting the MAC one again. It's got a little glitter in it so I think I'll just be using this on my lower lash line instead of waterline. It's really pigmented and doesn't drag whatsoever.

I'm really happy with my purchases - especially the lip crayons! Xoxo

Spring drugstore beauty haul

I love drugstore shopping! You can buy several things for the price of one high end product. It's good if you just want to trial a certain colour before splashing on a good quality version (despite most high street brands are on par with high end brands nowadays!). I thought I'd just show the stuff I bought from Boots and Superdrug as I haven't bought that much high end makeup this week.

I picked up a new foundation, L'Oreal True Match in the shade W3 for no reason. I'm perfactly happy with Revlon Colorstay and Esteé Lauder DW, but whatever. I got two Barry M Nail Paints, one in "Blueberry" and the other in "Strawberry" - I think you can guess which ones which :) As for lip products, I picked up three Revlon Matte Lipsticks in "Nude Attitude", "Smoked Peach" and "Stormy Pink" as Nicole Guerriero (aka my favourite YouTube guru) raves about them. I also got a Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in "Nude Eclipse". I went into Superdrug and bought two of their blushes: "Suede" (another Nicole rave product) and "Pixie Pink". Boots need to start stocking Sleek, asap. I also got one of those Tangle Teasers, but forgot to photograph it.

Here are some more pictures!

Have a great week,

Tried & Tested: TRESemmé Salon Sleek Smooth Memory Straightening Spray

(***I'll be adding pictures soon! The ones I used originally were stock photos and looked horrible so I'll be doing my own shortly!!!***)

Wow, that is a mouthful.

This is going to be a review on the TRESemmé Salon Sleek Smooth Memory Straightening Spray. (I'm going to call it the straightening spray just to save time)

TRESemmé claim that:

"Salon Sleek Smooth Memory Frizz Controller Spraightening Spray contains Argan Oil from Morocco known for its nourishing and smoothing benefits. Use with heat appliances to train hair to become straighter, smoother and less frizzy over time."

So basically, they say that this product is the bees knees. But is it really that good?

Yes, it is. I purchased this from Boots around three weeks ago when I ran out of my Bed Head serum (which is uh-may-zing I hasten to add). To be completely honest with you, I picked this up expecting it to be mediocre. But how wrong was I? This product does exactly what it says, however I find the staying power of the product more on the bad side of the scale. After washing my hair, before I blow-dry, I spritz this all over and then dry it. After about 15 minutes, I have no frizz what-so-ever and my hair feels incredibly soft and hydrated. However, even if I straighten my hair afterwards, the spray doesn't keep it straight. I don't really see this as a "straightening spray" I see it more as a "control frizz and make your hair super soft" kind of spray. Being said, there's nothing wrong with that. I have other serums (which I'll mention in another post) that keep my hair straight. After all, I didn't expect this to be as good as it claims - it was only £4.99. I must add that, from personal experience, this product is much more effective is used alongside other TRESemmé products such as the shampoo and conditioner. I used it once using Herbal Essence shampoo and conditioner and the results weren't as good.

Well, I hope this was helpful. I'll be doing a fashion type blog next which is fun.

-----

I've just ordered from Feel Unique the hyped up Moroccan Oil which I am super excited to try out - I'll definitely do a fair review after I've tried it out several times. If you would like, I could compared several hair treatments?
Leave a reply if you'd like that!

Hope you enjoyed this,

Suzanna
